§ 19.6.7.6 - Value

The value content of the upper layer replaces the value content of the lower layer composite. This is the "V" in HSV. Value is essentially brightness.

Where the higher layer is partially transparent, the result is mixed with the lower layer composite in a manner proportional to the amount of transparency.

Tip: If you're looking to apply an actual value component to the layer composite, you want the V layer mode.
