§ 19.6.5.1 - Average

This mode places the average of the content of the higher layer over the lower layers.

Average differs from Luma in that it uses the average instead of luma.

Where the higher layer is partially transparent, the result is mixed with the lower layer composite in a manner proportional to the amount of transparency.
