§ 19.6.1.2 - Behind

This mode places the content of the higher layer under the lower layers where the lower layers are transparent. In the example below, the Lena image has had a transparent region created in it. The dancer emoticon image is in a layer above the Lena image, but appears behind it because of the behind blend mode.

Where the lower layers are partially transparent, the content is mixed with the lower layer composite in a manner proportional to the amount of transparency.
