This war was fought between two groups of nations. One group consisted of Belgium, Britain and its Empire, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, Serbia and the United States.

The other group, which lost the conflict, consisted of Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany and the Ottoman Empire.
