§ 9 - About Plugins

dTank (β) can use plugins (add-on effects) developed by anyone. When you obtain a new plugin, place it inside the ak-plugins folder in your home folder.

Note: Here's where plugins would go for user Jo Smith:

/Users/josmith/ak-plugins

Initial ak-plugins folder

Once the plugin has been placed in this folder, dTank (β) will find it at startup and add it to the developing tools window.

Warning: Make absolutely certain that you trust the issuer of the plugin: these are executable objects that are able to do anything to your computer that you can short of having to enter your administrator password, and it is possible to create malicious ones, just as it is with any plugin system.
